A REAL TREE!!!!!

We decided to get a permit and go cut down a real tree this year. We've had our fake one and LOVE it for about 5 or 6 years, but we want a real one every year, so we started this year. First we started by driving the wagoneer out into the middle of nowhere (by Alpine), til we found snow... Then we hiked through some trees, then through some more trees.....

Then Boston got his hands in the snow....

Then Kam learned the sport of snowball throwing.....

Then baby B realized snow isn't so bad, as long as you're not touching it....
Then he touched it again....

Ahhh, then his mom rescued him....

Then Boss and I waited while the other 3 went to the wagoneer to get the ax and gloves...
Boss saw them coming and ran to help....

Then we looked and found the perfect tree.....
At first Boston tried to help dad chop it down....

But then we had to call in the big guns for some help.....

Boston decided to go practice on the small trees with his handmade ax.....

All and All it was a great day! We found our killer blue spruce, we made a snowman, we ate at the Hondah casino buffet (SUPER good...kudos to the natives), we got decorations at Walmart for the new tree, and we dodged two parade of lights! GREAT DAY!

A real tree and snow! Oh my gosh how fun for Christmas! I love your pictures too! That is seriously the coolest tree. Make sure to take pictures of the finished piece. Alissa says can I go play with Kamryn in the snow? It amazes me that she remembers Kamryns name after so long! This outing makes me want to create a Tree Day of my own!

Do you remember when mom and dad use to take us out chopping down a tree? Ah, good times.

PS I'll be saying "kudos to the natives" all week - thanks
