It's gunna be a long week

My cousin's wife is doing a media fast this week and ending it with general conference. Her stake president suggested it. I figured it'd be a good idea, and probably good for us as a family to get out and do more fun things, so as of right now, I'm on a media fast til Sunday! Don't have too much fun blogging w/o me!!!!

I am legend

Jase and I teach a class of about 16 fourteen and fifeteen year olds. The first month, I wanted to move away from JC just so I could get out of my calling. Now, I LOVE it! I love every single one of these kids. They're awewsome! Ok, there are 2 or 3 that don't know how to stop talking, but I love em! We told them a couple of months ago that we have a basement that looks like the first scary part on I am Legend, and they remembered, and since it came out on DVD the week of their spring break, we decided to have a pizza party with them and watch it down there. I seriously can't believe none of them got some freaky disease from that basement. I've been down there twice in the 4 months we've lived here. IT's scary and gross. Anyway, they loved it! And this is the only pic I got. This isn't even half of them, plus about 4 extra kids came. Oh and see the girl making the "scared" face in the front...if I had to adopt one of these kids, it'd be her. Or the one by her.

Bunco - March

So I'm about 3 weeks behind. WE had bunco night at the Hansen's this month, and Trina did an awesome job! We had potluck, then played BONCO (that's the new JOseph City term for it) and we were crowned with our green jewels afterwards. Vonda, Julie and myself were amoung the top 5 winners! Here's a pic of me being crowned...I kinda let it go to my head.Vonda, in what she calls, "the best night of her life".
Lou, Me, Von, Julie and Becky...WINNERS!!!!
BONCO NIGHT RULES!!!!

What happened yesterday....

Thank you all for your great concern, but seriously, not a big deal...and I warned you all, not a big deal. But kind of, to me, it was. And to top it off, there was an unexpected kicker to ruin the day at the end.
I've been begging K to let us cut her hair for over a year because she's super tenderheaded and there is really loud screaming from the Mulder home every morning, but she wanted to keep it long...then 2 weeks ago when I chopped mine, she's been begging me to cut hers like it. EVERYDAY! And I don't want to now. I've secretely had this dream to send her to her first day of kindergarten with hair to her butt in 2 half ponytails like mine was for my first day.

But she really really really wanted short hair, so I took her.

I was seriously soo sad the whole time. It was awful. It was WAY worse than when I chopped mine. she said she wanted the exact cut as mine, but I told the lady chin length, and no stack.

And I haven't taken any good pictures of her yet (today I will) but this is the final product? Should we go shorter? Stack it? The lady said we could come back anytime within a week and she'd change it. bah! Isn't it the saddest?! I LOVED K's hair!
And here's the kicker. She has had a favorite chick since the day we got them...it's the only one that was all yellow. She would hold it first thing in the morning, and first thing when daddy got home to get it out for her, and she named it Ariel. She said it was the only girl one, even though we can't tell. Well, we had a bunch of friends over for a BBQ last night and her and her friend were holding them, and one of the other kids ran into us and said, the chick is dead! And K walked out and petting Ariel, but Ariel's head was flopped completely back. Jase checked her and she was still breathing, but completely motionless. Kam didn't think she was dead. And so we let her hold her, thinking she'd put her down or something, but it was time to eat, and Jase had to pry Ariel out of K's hands, and K was screaming and crying, and didn't believe it was dead. And she stayed in her room for about an hour rather than eatting or being with her best friend, which are her two favorite things. I sat in with her and talked to her about how happy Ariel is now, and how we'll get to see her again. It was the saddest parenting moment I've had. She is our HUGE animal lover. Our other two love animals as much as any other kid, but K perfers animals to anything. She gets it from her dad and her grandma Mulder. And I LOVE it about her, but this part of it is sad.

Not the real Ariel. Ariel was much prettier, same ammount of dead.

Beautiful St. Johns

Ok, so I did shoots in the two ugliest towns in Arizona, and loved them both! We found this disgusting old dirty abandoned building that had a cot and a couple of ladders in it and there were HUGE holes in the floor that we had to avoid falling into, and dirt was blowing everywhere, but somehow they turned out!

WEIGHT LOSS TIME SISTAS!!!!

Alright, we're doing a biggest loser challenge! Who's in?! We have a blog set up with weekly questions and tips, starting weights, and recipes. It's $20 to join, and there will be monthly rewards (gift cards) for the biggest loser each month. You can also do it with us w/o adding to the pot, but you're not in it for the big bucks...the pot at the end. WE've got about 5 people in as of today. We're starting Monday the 7th. Cut off for the pot is the 4th. Let me know if you want to do it and I'll send you the address to send the pay pal money to...don't worry, she's legit...she's my Texas BFF (fullmers on the sidebar). We're doing it until the last week of July! I know, that's longer than most Biggest Losers competitions, but it'll keep us all working hard through the crappy bbq's of summer!!!
Here's a little picture to help motivate you to join us. Chubby Carrie...HOT CARRIE!!!!

Beautiful Holbrook

I am LOVING doing pictures in Holbrook! Yesterday I got to do a bridal shoot in St. Johns, which I can't wait to get the pics from (they are on my friend's camera) and then last night I did a shoot in Holbrook for this beautiful senior! This is the only one I've had time to edit, but there are a lot of fun ones! This one was taken at the old courthouse/jail in Holbrook...whoodathunk it?!

Advanced Notice...

So, that someone special in my life (you know who you are...I married you!) always has a hard time getting me gifts. I hint, ok, I don't hint, I tell him many wonderful ideas, with all different prices for birthdays, Christmas, Valentines, etc...but still he tends to find reason to wait til the week before to order it, and then as many of you remember, my camera got put on backorder, then canceled, then I was going to get a lens, but that didn't pan out, so I decided to wait and get a sewing machine, which still, didn't happen, so no Christmas gift this past Christmas. So I'm taking preventative measures, and telling that "someone special" that I want this adorable stinkin picnic basket for mother's day. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but you know we do picnics almost once a week, and our picnic basket is falling apart and ugly! So, there's hint number one. There will be more to come....in case you aren't in love with this like I am.... Oh, and it's available at htpp://www.picnicfun.com

Founders day

Ok, I stink! I didn't take any pictures of founders day, so here's the lowdown. We woke up around 6:30 (thanks to the anvil's every 5 minutes around town) and we went down to the church where half the town was. And J and Jase did the kid's bike race which was 4 miles I think. While, K, B and myself ate pancakes and talked with our friends the Sandersons. Next we all ate more pancakes together...nice. Then we came home, changed and went right up to the stinkin crappy volleyball tournement! Our team was #1 in the first round (of 15 teams) and then we won our first game of the tournement, and lost by ONE STUPID STUPID point (the games were timed...lame!) to the team that took the whole thing! bah on you Greg and Cayla fish! Ok, just kidding, we love them, and if I had to lose to anyone I'm glad it was them. If it were the moisers or the millers...someone would have lost a limb in their sleep that night.
Then we went down to the firehosue for some killer BBQ and an auction. The same family that got my photoshoot that I donated last year, got it this year, but this year they paid $90 more. Jase also sold 5 visits for $190 or somethign like that...it ended up being half the real cost. And we walked out of the auction with dinner at jerry's (yuck, but it's got great sentimental value) 2 oil changes, and a pizza from bubba's that I kept bidding against my dad for. Dad didn't know it, but the auctioneer, rusty, was laughing about it. Dad ended up with Dinner at Romo's and a R/C car. Ha! Then we walked home and Jase went to the raquetball tournement for over 3 stinkin long hours while I went and did a photoshoot...for the family that won it. I LOVE this family. They were fun to shoot. I get to do the middle girl's senior pictures too!! The one with the long highlighted hair. yay!!!

After the shoot we set up another v-ball game at the church which was supposed to be for an hour, but ended up being for almost 4 hours because we had the amazing DJ and the amazing Jay there. I am taking tutoring lessons from these boys mom's to learn how to raise perfect, happy, sweet boys. Their families are soo great! Then we came home, and we were going to go play cards at mom and dads, but I remembered I had to make cookies, so I made cookies til 1am then woke up at 7 to make a cake or two before heading out to church (30 min. late!) bah! And Easter was great. The kids loved their chicks and the egg hunt. And we had dinner at ma n pa's with the gardners, followed by a sweet game of pollack rummy. At the end of the day when I asked J what's important to him, he answered, "that Jesus died so that we can all be together. And he came back to life". So I'm glad he didn't say chicks and candy. yay! Something was learned this Easter!!!

HAPPY EASTER!

We were planning on building a coupe to match our house (when we start building) but my friend Jana said she was getting baby chicks for her kids for Easter, and I couldn't resist. So now we have baby chicks. These obviously aren't them, but I left my camera up at my mom's. I'm sure the next few posts will includ the baby chicks. K has named hers Ariel (she just named her stuffed kitty from disneyland Ariel too) and J named his chick "easter bunny". Jase and I have yet to name our 4 and Bossy named his "mo" since that's all he really says. It was soo fun to see the kids look in their baskets. They didn't have much else. Just a chick and an easter outfit. They all freaked out. B started squeezing his, K instantly picked hers up and J questioned if they were really real. I'm just excited to start getting our own eggs so we don't have to go up to the neighbors every week!

matchy matchy

I was just going through J's old baby pics and came across a few that made me want to squeeze his little baby boy guts! He looks like a chubbier version of B with darker eyes and bigger lips. He's soo cute. And I love that when I go through his baby pictures, I have to figure which of the 8 places that we lived in since we've had him it is at. This one is tempe. This one is one of my favorite chubby shots of J. It was in Irving...a place I LONG to forget. The only good thing about that place was that I had no friends so I exercised a good 3 hours a day and lost 35lbs. But was it really worth the torandoes, floods, ant infestation, ghetto living, and roaches jumping out of the cupboards...EVERY MORNING?! Uh, no!
And J's little twin. Just a random shot from J's camera fest the other day.
And somehow this pic snuck past my blogging sensors. It's from J's graduation...which I still need to blog about, but how cute is this little baby!!!

A little funny

So since I have a bit of it on my blog for the moment...I have to share this heart warming story of me, my sister, my neices, and my mom.

They were all at my house last week and my mom picked up a Victoria's Secret catalog. She flipped through a few pages before saying, "wow, this is porno!". You just gotta love a mom that calls porn porno!!! She's the bomb! And yes mom, I agree, it is porno, but mom, look at the adorable clothes that some of them have on! (last comment influnced by satan, I know!)

You make me so very happy

About 5 years ago my friend Jana bought me the best can opener ever! It was from Shar's kitchen and it was the better version of the pampered chef one. It did everything...and it didn't leave sharp edges. Anyway, it's dead! It's been dead for a good 6 months, but we've been trying to make due. We even bought a .99 peice of crap opener that lasted about 5 cans. Then we used the old caveman knife to slice cans open...luckily no blood was drawn from this method. But yesterday K, B and me went to Flagstaff for the day and bought a new one. I know it's the old school kind, but it's red and it's kitchen aid, which many of you know I love both! I love you oh working can open. Welcome.Secondly, I would like to give a warm welcome to my new Nike Shox. I know, I've always thought they looked weird, but when I tried these suckers on...I knew it was meant to be. They are now part of me. I didn't REALLY need a new pair, but I believe I left my other ones in Cali, and with my volleyball and walks, and hopefully soon, jogs, I need good shoes. Um, yeah, I don't know why it has the nike sign and plus sign by it...I think because it's super super nike great, PLUS amazingly cool?

Happy St. Patrick's day! From me and my 2 retarded leprachauns!!! That's their "irish" faces.

Boss overload

Ok, you can tell I'm soo soaking tired in this picture, but I was LOVING holding B! He kept wanting me to scoop up his little legs and hold them tight! I loved it! It's rare that a 2 year old let's you hold him for a good 10 minutes. Thanks B. We were all in the kitchen getting dinner ready and we realized B wasn't in there with us. We looked in the living room and he was being the cutest couch potatoe EVER!

J loves to take pictures! He decided to take a few of B on Saturday. This is B: surprised and awaiting some killer crepes. B: not happy with what's in his crepes.
B: listening to why he SHOULD eat what's in the crepes.
B: Loves dad and now the crepe.
B and his bunny.

Freaking PERFECT

Ok, so I FINALLY got to take some pictures of my amazing neice K. She is adorable, beautiful hair, bright blue eyes, perfect smile, nice hot bod, and spunk! I loved it! We got to explore the hidden beauty of Holbrook Az for these pics. Which as many of you know is the site of the teepee's aka road cones on Cars. That's right. We were going to snap a few shots there, but my stupid battery died. Anyway, here is phase one of K's senior pictures....

Her and her two sister that helped me make her laugh and smile...and defaintely did NOT help with the sexy straight face shots! Thanks girls!

Here's a few shots of me and my role model Kayla. I make her wear the clothes that I buy to small as motivation, and she looks smokin in them! Thanks Kayla! Oh these pictures are both of us doing Hip Hop Abs! Aww, and I'd give $100,000 to have this on video. Danica is the cutest dancer EVER!!!! She's soo fun to watch! Thanks for the entertainment dani.

A tribute to my nanny...

ALright, so I told you we didn't take very many pictures on our cali trip, and I'm realizing we didn't take ANY of our beautiful nanny at the beach!!! bah! Guess we'll have to do it again sometime soon. And so I decided to go through the rest of the cali pictures to see what I could come up with for pictures of her...silly faces in every single one. Either she was pulling a crazy face, or I just happened to catch a mid blink or a lookaway or something. But most of you know (i've heard you talking) how "soaking" (kam's word for freaking) beautiful she is, so she can pull off wacky faces. ANyway, she's soaking awesome and we had sooo much fun with her. We had to sing all the way over and all the way back because the radio in the car we took didn't work. And we sang in perfect harmony, "the hills are alive" from the sound a music. If you ever catch us together, ask us to perform it for you...it's great. Anyway, thanks a ton beeb! You're soaking awesome girl!!!!

California 2008

Alright, so I know you've all been dying to see pictures from our amazing trip to Cali. It was pretty sweet. We stopped by Queen Creek to pick up our nanny, Breea. Then left around 3:30am Thursday. We made it there around 9:30, checked into the hotel, and left the nanny and children as we headed off to the Magic kingdom ALONE! It was freaking fun!!! We hit all the major rides in both parks between 10am and 8pm. Oh, and yes, I did chop my mop...it's the victoria beckam...plus size. I LOVE IT! It's longer on one side, and yes, I meant to do that!!! This is the food that I reminded Jase of for about 3 weeks prior to our trip. MEAT ON A STICK! How great is that? And yes, that is bacon wrapped asparagus...ON A STICK!
The next day it was a bit chilly as we awaited the arrival of our bus to DL, and I left my jacket upstairs, so Jaden was kind enough to let me wear his...perfect fit!

Ah, nothing says Families Forever like a nice bus picture.

I've gotta say, it was nice to have a day long break from the kids, but the second day with the kids was soo much funner. Just to watch the excitement in their eyes on EVERY ride. Kam would cry on almost everyone, and then want to go on it again. Jaden LOVED splash mountain and Indiana Jones. Kam's favorite was pirates and the haunted mansion. This shot was on the jungle cruise. (sorry about catching the silly face Beeba)

Again, sorry about the silly face Jase...but um, hello, you have a camera pointed right at you!!!

The real buzz! Seriously, the real Buzz Lightyear gave Jaden high five!!!

Um, so at the end of the day we realized that we didn't take a whole lotta pictures, so we took pictures of all of us enjoying ice cream on our way out. Yikes!

One more ride...the tea cups. I hate this ride...can I say that? I hate the teacups!!!

It was a lovely week/weekend that I hope to recreate again in 2 or 3 years.
