Black Friday...YEAR 4

I LOVE Black Friday! It's one of my favorite holidays! I love that Bet and Dani sacrafice sleep to go with me! I don't like how much OLDER I look in this picture than them....Here's how it went down. Thanksgiving Day, Bet and I went to Old Navy, got some killer deals (card holders deals). Then we went and had Thanksgiving. After that, Randa, Kayla, Danica and myself went to JoAnn's...SERIOUSLY great deals there. Tons of stocking stuffers, ribbon and other junk. Then to bed early (11) so I could get up at 3:15 for Target's 4am start. (thanks for the midnight call Ash, you'll get yours soon!)
BLACK FRIDAY MORNING: Bet slept in!!!!!!! I got nervous that I'd be going alone. I headed out alone...texting Dani, Kayla, Randa, Cara, whoever would go with me. Dani texted back and said, "I'm on my way" whew! But then a couple of minutes later Bet texted, "Sorry, I'll be there ASAP". So we started at Target. TARGET!!!! I STINKIN LOVE BF at Target. Love it! I love that there are billions of money saving moms and weirdee teenage and 20 something boys wanting gaming stuff.
So there were about 50 or 60 of us at one door, and there was a sign that said, "line forms at other door". But some big mouth lady said, "well, I KNOW they have to open both doors, it's a fire code". Um, but at 4:01, target workers came to our door and pointed to the other one. So I rushed over there, Dani came right then too. And they let the line go in first while the other now 100 of us had to wait. Um, NO!
Dani and I went around and saw a big gap in the line from some slow poke, and another girl said, "if you guys jump in right there, I will too". So we did! And the hoochie meanie behind us said, "Oh, no you don't, I'm with my sister right there, you can go behind me". (which I would have said too) um, so we did. And luckily the next people weren't so mean, they just kept saying, "I don't remember these people being in line with us before"...a few times kinda loud and rude like...but you know what...we were walking towards the door....towards binoculars, towards, play doh, houndstooth cheinlle throws, cheap DVD's, and most importantly, the pushing and shoving and black friday shoppers.
We did it! We were in! Bet still hadn't made it yet, but Dani and I went STRAIGHT to the toys to get the night scope eyeclops binoculars...one of only TWO things Jaden has asked for this year (the other being a big huge plain hershey's bar..which I will get later). We got there...huge $25 sign (usually $50) and a huge EMPTY SHELF!!! We asked the worker if they were going to restock...he said, yea, they should be soon. But then another worker said, "Are you talking about the night vision binoculars? There's more on isle C26". Um, there were a few of us needing them, so we started going back there fast...it was a few isles away...I got cut off, so I yelled for Dani to go, and to be strong! And she did! She got 3! And she made 3 mother's of boys very happy that day.
THEN to the houndstooth throws...yea, we got the last 2 red ones. Whatev.
Then to the playdoh...which I didn't know we were even going to get, but as I was looking at the huge 24 pack (full size tubs) and realizing that $5.26 was a really great prices, mother's hands were snatching away, and Dani reached for the 2nd to the last one (the last one was opened) and some other lady touched it about 1/2 a second before her, so she let her have it...but she did snatch the last one, which was just opeend, but comletley fine. Everyone kept eyeing my toy story 3 too. But they later realized that they restocked that movie every 2 seconds. In fact, there are still a ton. Target was AMAZING!
Then, the 3 of us loaded into one car and went to Kohl's where we quickly left because the line snaked the WHOLE store! But now I wish I would have because they had an awesome waffle maker, under cabinet sterio and a 7" digital frame that were later over $200 all together, but that morning they were only about $70 all together. Blah!
Then to BB& Beyond. Fun stuff there, not too great of deals. You did get 20% off of your entire purchase though, so we found the most amazing head scratchers for $3.20 after our discount. Bet and I bought 5, Dani bought 2. All together, we're making 12 people very very VERY happy. I mean VERY happy! Oh my gosh so happy! I also got a sweet RC ride for my nephew. Back to the head scratchers. AMAZING~! Bet would scratch mine and Dani's head, and we'd almost wreck w hen she scratched mine..it made my eyes close every time. And dani, wow, the sounds she would make. Head scratchers are better than better than sex cake. They're the top of the best chain.
Then over to somewhere, I can't think right now, but on to breakfast, which is usually IHOP because it's in Flag, but we did paradise bakery. Lovely. It was lovely. Then to charming charlie's, then done. It was a lovely morning...but not the end of my black friday shopping. I had to help Jase put a Crazy 8 order through...probably my best deals of the whole week. I had a coupon for 20% off, PLUS they were having t heir own little sales, so I got tons and tons and tons for only $101 (no shipping). Then it was time for us to head out, but on our way we hit walmart, target again, kohl's again and Bass Pro Shop. And then we had to drive home.

Again, NOT the end of my BF shopping spree.

This morning, woke up, got on line, filled a target shopping cart, filled an amazon shopping cart, and finally put in my PearTreeGreetings order. I'm also doing a snapfish order in a bit. Seriously I want to not shop all year and save all of my $$ and go crazy every BF and following Saturday...and let's not forget Cyber monday is um, 2 days away!!!! I love how much you can get when you're broke on these days. It's amazing.
I'm starting to get post black friday blues already. I'm sure once the packages sstart coming in, and more Christmas stuff starts happening I'll be fine. But i fyou see me in the next couple of days, just give me a good pat on the back and let m eknow that it'll all be alright.

Love the Sabbath

I love that on Sunday we just chill as a family at home. I love it. Yesterday we decided to make cake balls by Bakerella! Um, so much fun! And look how fancy they look. Those were even our crappy ones. I thought i took a picture of them covering our kitchen last night, but I didn't. And now half are at school (the kids took them to their teachers) and half are in our fridge, so yea. Oh, we made cake pops too. They were red with sprinkles, but ALL of them went to school. the kids decided they want cake pops for their birthdays now. yay!!!
And last night Jase and I whipped these puppies out....
They're for a friend's daugher's wedding, but I LOVE them! I wanna make some to leave on my kitchen cabinets for real.

I'm grateful...

So I know my gratefuls are far and few between, but today Im so grateful for music. So grateful for music. It's a surefire way for me to feel the spirit at church meetings. It's the best way to calm me down when I'm having a rough day with the kids. It's the best way to get my dancing and moving in the morning. I love music! Ok, so I have a lot of people say they read my blog...but obviously only one or two that comment, so i know you are reading this! So do this. Go to pandora, and create a station and type in david archeleta holiday. And any song that comes on there, close your eyes....in the middle of the day, when you're not tired, and listen. Weird, I know, but I love it! I don't have time to be doing it right now, but I love to! Love to! There's a song by Sarah McLaughlin (who I don't usually like) called Wintersong. I love it.
Anyway, oh, and Pearce and I were just dancing to O Holy Night by 90 Degrees (don't make fun) and I was singing and we were twirling in the living room, and HE STARTED SINGING! Not the words of coarse, but he was going "lalala, ooooh, lalalal ooh" it was the cutest thing ever. I busted up laughing, then he did, and I stopped dancing, and he started rocking side to side and singing again, so we had to dance again, then ou tta no where, he gave me a kiss AND A HUG! It was the sweetest moment I've had in a long time...thanks to...
MUSIC!!!!

Weekly inspiration

So you all know that for years, anything red and turquoise, or red and pink, or red polka dot has inspired me. Um, guess who's inspiring who? BHG magazine just had an article saying that the new colors together are red and turquoise. heck yes it is! And so of coarse, I'm ready to paint my bedroom walls a different color (they're turquoise). Gotta be ahead of the game. ha. But for now, an adorable Christmas baby in front of my favorite red amoire.
Ok, but now for MY inspiration. Jase and I went on our first date (besides the temple) since NYC...in A MONTH, and we went to Flag and watched Morning Glory, and my review is that Rachael McAdams is the prettiest girl ever (not hottest, prettiest). She is sooo pretty. But back to my inspration. I LOVE that she wore whatever. A lot of the time it was businessy stuff, but she wore some fun casual stuff. And I realized, in the movie she was supposed to be 28...I consider 28 to have been my prime. I felt soo good at 28, working out everyday, able to run and play with the kids all day, go hiking, etc....but then I thought...wait a flippin second. Who swam 2 miles this summer, and at least a mile every other day and all through the fall ran 2-3 miles? yea, and I'm 31 people...THIRTY ONE! My prime is yet to come. So I dont' want to keep wearing mormon mom clothes. I wanna dress fun and spunky and crazy (still modest though). I just wanna wear whatever colors I want. I wanna wear rainboots when it's not raining. I want to wear tight red pants with a pink shirt and leopard shoes. I told Jase outta nowhere last night on our way home, "I want to wear what I want to wear!". He asked "what do you mean?" I said, "I just want to wear whatever I want to wear!" So, I'm going to slowly change my wardrobe...as budget allows (not much for a while). But be forwarned, I'll be the weird girl again.
My real life inspiration???
My cousin in law in law...Rachael Mulder (she's dan and rach on the sidebar Mulders...super fun blog, unless you don't like couples w/o kids that are way in love...don't go there)
but I LOVE what she wears all the time...and yea, it helps that she's got an amazing figure, super great smile AND that hair! But you know what...I'm growing my hair back, and I'm back on a diet, and, ok, my smile will always be lame, but I'll play up my ey es people! Check out some of her rockin outfits.

And this was just an outfit on another blog (dont' know the girl) that I love~

How could I forget???

Sunday was a huge day. Boston went from shabby boy to handsome preppy boy. It was a huge cut. Hair all over the place. Here is his last shaggy bossy pic (for a while)

My sidekick...

Lately Boston has been SO helpful, and such a good worker. He gets up, does his room, then comes and asks what his job is that day, gets it done, eats breakfast, gets himself ready for school (his outfits are awesome, I'll be posting pictures soon), then plays til the bus comes. He's awesome On wedensday he put on 5 shirts and a pair of shorts and shoes. The next day, he took off one of the shirts and it was like he had a whole new outfit. Finally today, we took off the last 3 shirts and gave him a bath. But on Sunday this is the outfit he picked out. I wish I had a picture of the whole thing....
Ok, then today I got in all of my chocolate chips from our big annual bulk order from Sister Bushman, PLUS I have bags and bags and bags all over my pantry because they've been about .75 a bag with coupon sense, so I decided to stock up. So I decided to bottle a little over half of them with our food saver. Um, it only took two times of doing it and Boston did the WHOLE process by himself! NO LIE! I really have a little sweat shop here. He loved it. We even did a big bag of M&M's....that will not stay bottled long due to our Peanut Butter M&M addiction.

My little girl...

I took a few shots of my dolly yesterday for a little business endevour that I'm about to start, and when I got the pictures home and looked at her eyes, and her hands, and her HIPS, I realized she's not so little anymore. I can't believe she's going to be baptized this next year. I honestly feel like we've only had her a few years. I'm dreading her teenage years. DREADING IT...and SOO looking forward to it. I can't wait for all of the fun stuff that comes with the challenging times. It's so fun to watch my sisters with their teenagers. I hope Jase and I can do as great with ours as they do with theirs...and I hope ours are as good as theirs. Every once in a while Jaden and Kam give us a little taste of the teenage years with their snotty attitudes, but usually they are still the sweet little 7 and 8 year old. Especially this week. Kam has been doing her chores first thing in the morning, and helping out others with theirs w/o being asked. And she does it quietly. I love it. She's the best, and I'm SO SO grateful to have a LITTLE GIRL!

New way for Recomendations...

Ok, so my new thing for recomendations is going to be on my sidebar . Since I buy, um, about 75% of everything off of amazon, from food storage to clothes, to ipods and books, I'm going ot just put my recomendations on there through amazon. Seems easier. This week are 2 staples in our pantry and one cool new find that my kids LOVE!

Things I'm anticipating

So I realize I'm off on my days of my blogging schedule, but I STILL think it's helping me hit all areas.
Today I'm going to do recomendations and anticipations

Recomendations
I'd first off like to recomend that everyone gets and Old Navy Card. Ok, that's bad, I know, but seriously the perks and rewards are worth it...if you can stay on top of it. I just got SOOO MANY clothes for all of us, ok, no scratch that, it was all for me, Jase, Pearce and Boss (the other two have too many clothes) for $55!!!! (that includes shipping and tax!)
Second recomendation...this PIE I keep wanting to make it for everyone, and we make two everytime, but we keep two and eat two everytime. Sorry everyone. Seriously, I've thought about making one for most everyone in town, but it NEVEr happens! I'm sure I'll get tired of them sometime and actually get one delivered, but for now, we eat them for at least 2 meals a day. bad again, I know
Third recomendation...dinner swaps! My friends Sharee and Amy and I are doing dinner swaps. I have Monday nights (we're all having lasagna, salad and garlic bread tonight) and Tuesday nights, we're hoping to fill with someone else...wed, sharee makes something amazing (pizza and salad last week) then Amy has Thursday nights (the best taco salad I've ever had...no lie, last week). Then the weekends, we're on our own. But I'm loving it so far. 2 days of the week to not fret about what's for dinner. And I get my Monday meals done during afternoon naptime, so we still have lots of time for FHE. It's good. I recomend.

Ok, now onto my top 3 anticipations:
1. JoAnns to finally reopen in Flag.
2. My hair to grow back.
3. To find out what Dani is having!!!!

Totally awesome,

Ok, I'm starting off with this amazing kid. Sure, him and his dad have their ups and downs, and most every morning is a struggle to get him to be nice to his sister, but overall, this kid is cake He's hilarious to be around, he's very observant...remembers things from years ago that the rest of us had almost forgot. This guy likes to be home, and I like that! He still likes to cuddle with me on the couch...I LOVE that! He still laughs at me when I do my funky cooking dances, he still yells I love you mom when he runs out the door everyday, but coolest of all, is his hair. I know, I know, looking at these pictures you're thinking, what? It's just shaggy pokey hair, but no....it's the way it falls when he does his head nod. It's awesome He's just awesome. And I've done this a few times in the past, just take a billion pictures in one minute and after every snap he has to change poses. These are my favorites.....

You can't deny the awesomeness.
On another note. Ok, I already noted that Elder Uchtdorf's talk on slowing down and prioritizing was my favorite, so of coarse, I read it the second the Ensign got here. And it was a great reminder to chill. Especially this time of year. Plan less, say no more. I've noticed a much more content feeling in my life since conference, and I've noticed that my friends that seem the most unhappy with where they are in life are usually the overscheduled ones. The ones that don't have time to just chill with their kids, or time to go on a date every week with their husband, or time to sit each week and prioritize what they're going to do for the week. I really LOVE every part of Elder Uchtdorf's talk. I like listening to it on http://lds.org better than reading it (I stink at reading, but that's a new priority...to become better at comprehension so I can enjoy reading). But my new priorities
1. Read with the kids more
2. Piano with the kids more
3. More family walks
4. Learn Italian with the kids
5. Eliminate Facebook (I know, it's a stretch, but it'll happen before the years end) I've realized how much amazing family time I waste caring about other people's silly lives. Not saying everyone's lives are silly, but when they post about the cheesecake they just made, or the amazign meal they just had at Oreganos...um;, really? Do I care?
So there it is. More goals for myself. Help me reach these people..if you see me post on FB, or even on the chat...tell me to get off!!!!!!

Another giveaway, but not by me...

An awesome website is having an awesome giveaway for a cute card shop...check it out HERE

In other news....Grateful for.....

Today I'm SOO grateful for my Vitamix. Weird, I know, but as I shoved about 2 C of spinach into the blender, I thought, "ugh, I don't wanna eat spinach right now" but when the shake was done (OJ, coconut water, frozen mangos, carrots and spinach), I wanted more...and more, and my younger two couldn't get enough. I love that we're getting so many nutrients, but not having to chew on foliage all day. I also love that I can throw turbinado and corn startch in there if I'm out of powdered sugar. AND we did use it this morning for some awesome pumpkin pancakes. We've had it for 7 years and haven't had a single problem. I think in the 3 years before that we went through 2 higher brand (kitchen aid and hamilton beach) blenders. I'm grateful for quality stuff that makes us healthy
(hint, i want a quality bosch...another hand mixer wen tout this week.....a quality sewing machine...I've gone through 2 less quality machines in our 10 years....a quality camera...mine is so crappy it was discountinued a year after it was made....a quality Cube...ok, I just would love to be driving a cube)

ADORABLE!!

Ok, so if you're a photography, have a baby, know someone having a baby, or even a kid...you hafta have my friend make you some hats! She's great at it, and she can make just about any crochetted hat you can come up with. And she's a lot cheaper than etsy. This cute bear hat...ten bucks...yup, TEN STINKIN BUCKS! So, LMK if you want a hat for your kids or someone else's baby, or whoever!

I'm grateful for....

My monsters! I love em all. Boston put on this gorilla head and glove set and started being a monster to all of the kids. We all ended up dying laughing. He looked hilarious!
I'm grateful for my change of mind. Just in the last couple of years I've learned to be happy, and YES, I do think you can learn to be happy, no matter what your circumstances. I've had friends over the years let their happiness depend on the actions of their parents, their husband, their kids, even their town. And I've had friends be unhappy because of things going on in the world, health issues, financial issues and other parts of their life. But really, ANYONE can be happy. It doesn't matter how much you make, what your husband has done, what rumors have been spread, or what ailment you have. And I know, many things make it hard to keep a positive outlook, but I've learned that when you focus on what matters, it's easier to be happy. And trust me, we've had pretty much EVERY issue listed above in the last 2 years, but when I look at my kids, my husband, my cozy bed, running water, my fridge full of food, or just the fact that we have somewhere to go home to each night, it's soo easy to be happy. I'm smiling just typing this. I found a quote:
Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be. ~Abraham Lincoln

With that being said, I'm happy.
But I did just get back from a gratitude journaling enrichment and here's what I learned. Most people blog what they want their kids to read when they get older (I DO) and they don't blog their struggles (again, I do). Just know that it's on a seperate blog. My life is what it is on here, but my personal, spiritual and private struggles are on a seperate blog. Just know that.
I think a lot of people write sunshine and rainbows on their blog, but then have a personal journal with their struggles and personal things. I have about 95% of my life on here, because if you know me, you know I don't have much that I keep personal, and I'm very matter of fact, blunt, straight forward, whatever you wanna call it. So it's mostly on here.
Anyway, for the last couple of years, I've been 95% happy. haha

I'm grateful for....

THIS MAN! Seriously he's hilarious. I think he laughed all day yesterday....and pooped. He pooped all over the place in the morning and everyone except Boston was gone. There was only 1 wet wipe and it wasn't a 1 wet wipe job, so I had to yell at Boston to go out to the car and get the bag of wet wipes....5 minutes later, he was still out there, so I just brought Pearcey into the sink to clean him. It's ok, I sanatized the sink afterwards. haha.

Now to other things I'm grateful for. My day yesterday was just full of them. I loved my day! I was in my PJ's ALL DAY LONG! It was fantastic! I'l start with this amazing ice cream. It's soo good! I'm a fan of mint ice cream, and this is just over the top. Every other year Schwans carries in, but we haven't had it in about 8 years, so I'm EXTREMELY grateful for it!
My MOM!!! I'd die w/o my mom right now. I'm soo stupid and decided to take on a million projects that I don't know how to do. So yesterday after I got all of the patter cut out for the kid's Christmas PJ's, she had to come help me figure out which ones I needed for each kid. And then she left me....and I was scared. BUT...WAHLAH! One pair of PJ pants down, only 3 more to go...and 4 tops to go. haha. It's going to be a long month of sewing.
A new fridge! yay! I had no problems with our last fridge....the ice maker went out the year we got it and the water thingy needed a new filter for the last 3 or 4 years,b ut it was a good fridge. But bam, one day, just gone!. So looky here, a beautiful new Samsung. It's really fun for us to just open the doors and look. And the light slowly comes on when you open it so it's really calming. It makes me shove the pumpkin pie down much more slowly.
I'm grateful for my MOM! Haha, did I already say that? Yea, I decided to can a bunch of salsa yesterday because my neighbor gave me a ton of tomatoes. Again, i was nervous, but it was sooo easy, and now I wanna do it everyday. Thanks ma! (oh, notice crock pot #1)
And crock pot #2 and #3! I'm grateful for good friends that are willing to experiment with me. We're doing dinner exchanges. I have Monday nights....so we had chicken noodle soup and homemade rolls and bread. I LOVED the way my house smelled, stayed warm, and looked with crock pots all over the place.

My little mermaid

Kam decided to be a mermaid this year. It was a toss up between a mermaid and the queen of hearts. I'm glad she chose mermaid. She was the cutest, shinest mermaid EVER! We took her out for some pictures yesterday....Her friend Zoe wanted to be in ai few. As you can see the kids all went crazy with hair color spray this weekend....
And I told Kam to sing like Ariel...this is what we got.....
Um, I'm not going to be modest...she's the prettiest mermaid ever made!!! She's perfect!!!!

Grateful...

Ok, so everyone is facebooking about how grateful they are, I'm not into doing personal stuff on facebook...seems like a waste to me. So I'm doing it here, where I can print it out and have it for the kids. (and grandkids, and you know)
This week was hilarious. WE started off with a broken water mane, so our yard, and 3 of our neighbrs had water all over the place, TONS.....lesson learned:
I'm grateful for a handy dad and husband who went out and had it fixed in no time.

2 days ago our fridge/freezer went out, so I had to take all of our food to Jase's office fridge and my parents little fridge downstairs....lesson learned:
I'm grateful for good credit so we can get a home depot card to get a new one.

Pearcen learned new tricks while we were on our trip...like how to climb stairs. So now, with the new bunk bed, even though the ladder doesn't start at the ground, it stops at the mattress on the bottom bunk, he can climb to the top....little tiny man, clmbing to to the top of a big huge bunk bed. Today he fell.....from the top of the ladder to the mattress of the bottom bunk....lesson learned:
I'm grateful for answered prayers. (I heard him crying across the house...I was getting the older 2 ready for shcool...I went running and praying)
Um, and I'm just grateful to have the world's easiest, sweetest and most roundest cutest baby ever!!!

The fall quote of choice....

"Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns."
George Eliot, in a ltter to Miss Lewis, October 1, 1841 "A Warming Trend" (pg. 224

Ka Rah Taay Kid!

Jaden...yesterday was Jaden day so obviously I'm falling behind my new blogging schedule. But we're doing a countdown to Thanksgiving and today is "I'm grateful for Heavenly Father" so here's what Jaden has to say:

Because he gave us a house and he helped us get enough money to get our car and He's helped us have enough money to let me and kamryn go to school and to have all of these things and families. How about brother's and sisters? (me: yup) He gave me my family.

And now I'm going to share some amazing Karate Kid pictures from Halloween. He's got some killer moves (and dimples) goin on.

Oh and just a little tid bit. Jaden is ALMOST a Bear in scouts. And today he came home and said, "mom our teacher let us make wahtever we wanted with wood scraps, and I made you this recipe holder and door stop". Um, I'll DEFAINTELY be posting picture. He's got some mad craftsman skills!
Thanks bud.

Sharin the knowledge...

...or more like opinion, but so far this year, my two favorite scentsy scents...
Mochadoodle and Hazelnut Latte. They both smell AMAZING...the only way I can describe it w/o you coming over to smell it is this picture.....
Combined with.....

It's that good.
